I am a Creator.

I am a builder. I truly have a passion for all things that involve building. I love building things in any format from woodworking, robotics, puzzles, 3D printing, software, and even IKEA furniture. I enjoy the process of breaking down problems and figuring out solutions and then building out those solutions. Even if I come across something that I may not know the immediate answer to I will go do my research and more often than not I can come up with a solution. It may not be the optimal solution, but a solution non the less knowing that I can always go back and make adjustments.

I believe the reason I enjoy building things so much stems from growing up playing team sports. From the time I was five up until the end of high school I constantly played sports. I dabbled in just about every sport ranging from basketball, soccer, football, golf, track and field, and others just to name a few. And the thing that I found that I enjoyed the most across all sports was practice. Practice is where you put in the work to become better and I fell in love with the idea of working to become better. Essentially each practice was a way for me to build a better version of my current self. I enjoyed practice more than the games itself. This was important because as an athlete you spend a majority of the time practicing.

The way that this relates to my passion for building things is simply enjoying the process and rewards of hard work. Much like how practice is the majority of the time spent for an athlete I would argue that research, breaking down problems, and figuring out solutions are the majority of what I do in my professional career. The output of my work is total sum of all the hard work I put in prior just as the output of a game is the sum of all the practices leading up to it. Enjoying the process of building things fuels me to continue growing, learning, and building better solutions. Because at the end of the day I know that I am improving and becoming better at building solutions that add value.
